2.  Using the Course Materials
The course provided by VanEd is broken into three parts.
  • The textbook Texas Real Estate, 10th Edition, by Charles J. Jacobus.
  • The online Courses and tools (Flash Cards, Quizzes, Exercises)
  • The online Examinations
Using the Course Materials

There are two basic approaches to using the course. Some students find it most beneficial to study the textbook first, and then work with the online resources to reinforce and test their knowledge. Others find it advantageous to start with the online instruction, referring the text when directed to do so by the online unit, or when they feel the need for more in-depth information on the topic or concept. You may wish to try each method to see which works best for you..

Regardless of the method you choose, you will note that each chapter in the textbook has a corresponding section online. Each Unit has a variety of methods to help you master the material. You will find Flash Cards to help you learn the specialized vocabulary relative to the unit. You will also find Exercises to help you apply the principals learned. In addition, there are Quizzes to reinforce the principals. Finally, there is a comprehensive Exam at the end of each unit to help you prepare for the Final Exam for the Course. If you answer an exam question incorrectly, the online study aids provide the correct answer as well as directing you to the relevant portion of the text to review the principal, concept or rule. The material is organized so that you can easily move in and out of any unit, topic or subtopic to review, check or otherwise reinforce the information about a given topic or concept.

To help you become familiar with this program, VanEd makes it possible to become a VanEd student and go through the course for 5 days, at no cost to you. This is the best way to see how everything ties together for your benefit. If you are happy with what you see, you can complete your enrollment by paying the tuition, at which time we will send you the text book and provide access to the instructor.

Whether you are studying the textbook or working with the many online resources, you can e-mail us at anytime with your questions and an instructor will answer within 24 hours (usually more quickly).

While we impose no time limit on your completion of courses, course content will change periodically as new laws, cases, procedures and forms come into being. Therefore, if you take more than 6 months to complete courses, it is possible that a course you have already completed may have changed. As a result, we encourage you to complete the course material as rapidly as possible. If there has been a substantial delay, we encourage you to review courses already completed for changes.
