| 1. The Basics |
The Real Estate Commission of Texas requires the following to receive a salesman's license for those applying on or after January 1, 2006
"To be eligible to apply for a real estate Salesperson License, an individual must furnish the Commission satisfactory evidence of successfully completing the following education:
- Principles of Real Estate core real estate course (60 hours)
- Law of Agency core course (30 hours)
- Law of Contracts core course (30 hours)
- An additional core course (30 hours)
- An additional four semesters (60 hours) in core courses or in related courses acceptable to the Commission."

Completing the VanEd Pre-Licensing course is a necessary step toward obtaining your Texas real estate license. However, the course only satisfies the education requirements above. You will still need to pass the state exam and fulfill the other requirements to obtain your license.
